History Repeats Itself

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who learn from their mistakes, and those who don't.

The latter insist on repeating them over and over, claiming each time, that this particular situation is different from the ones before. They never stop and think that they went through the same emotions, the same actions and the same thought process when previously faced with the same predicament.

How can you, then, as a bystander, make them see the light? In my experience, there isn't a way to shift their focus, since they are so adamant about being right.

Then, you stand back and let them fall and learn on their own.

Right is Better

Recently, I came across a very interesting fact: 90 percent of women who walk into a department store immediately turn to the right.

As soon as I read it, I realized that I was definitely one of those 90 percent! And for me, it’s not just limited to a department store. Whenever I’m out with my friends in the mall, I have one rule that I live by: when in doubt, always go right.

I don’t really know when I started following this, or how it originated in my head. All I know is that I always operate according to this!

Phone Addicts

The other day I was watching a TV show and someone commented that people don’t like experiencing things now unless it comes out of their 3.5 inches smart phone screen. And I find that to be extremely true.

I was reading the timeline on my Twitter account where people were tweeting about a drama serial every five minutes (from their phones) and I kept wondering whether they were actually watching the show. From their constant updates it seemed as though they would pause it from time to time just to tweet their thoughts.

How does that work anyway? I mean if I’m watching a show, I am usually completely focused on the plot. So I really have to wonder if these people are actually interested in watching what’s happening on the big screen, or if they are just addicted to updating their status about it.
