Something New

You know that feeling you get when something amazing is about to happen and you don’t know what it is?

Even more beautifully annoying is the feeling you get when you know exactly what that ‘amazing’ thing is.

Anticipation mixed with nerves, excitement, and it all leads to butterflies and restlessness. You can’t sit still. It doesn’t help if you move around. You want to finish your work but you can’t focus.

You are hungry but you don’t want to eat. You can’t sleep anymore. You are plagued by a thousand questions, dreams and thoughts, wondering how everything was going to happen, looking forward to the next day, wanting time to just pass quickly.

And the end result? Time goes by at a snail pace. You feel like you are watching a movie in slow motion.

‘A watched pot never boils,’ never really did I fully understand this idiom until now.

Smart Win

Smart phones are the invention that has made our lives extremely easy. Anyone who has one will tell you that they would never go back to the normal phones they used before. But even though these phones, like the Blackberry and the iPhone have a countless uses and advantages, the one thing I don’t like about them is that it connects you to the world all the time!

Of course, this is rather distracting. I remember I used to turn my phone off during exams so as to not get bombarded by last minute doubts and questions that plagued my classmates’ minds.

Despite all this, I still wouldn’t trade in my phone, for the good points outweigh the bad.

P.S. For all you youngsters out there, please don't text while driving. It is much more dangerous than drunk driving and is in no way considered 'cool.' More than 80 percent of the accidents are caused by cell phone usage while attempting to drive with your free hand. You don't only put yours but other people's lives also in danger. Why would you want that on your conscience?
